Google used a primetime advertising slot during Grammy Awards last night to show off the popular Nexus 4 smartphone and many uses of Google Now, its Siri competitor.
The Nexus 4 is one of the hottest Android phones on the market due to solid feature set and its relatively cheap off-contract pricing. It was originally plagued with supply issues, but Google and manufacturer LG have mostly fixed those issues and it can be purchased in the Google Play store for $300.
While the Nexus 4?s placement in the commercial was key, the real star might have been Google Now. Google clearly wants people to see what its competitor to Apple?s Siri can do. In the commercial, we see many uses for Google Now: a mother gets weather updates, two girls are helped with translations, a couple finds a place to eat, and a father looks over his busy calendar.
